Nellie Fry

Patient Care Coordinator

I grew up in Norwalk, IA, and originally attended DMACC with plans to become a teacher. However, my path took a different turn when I spent seven years traveling across the country—from the West Coast to the East Coast—including time living in California and Ohio before returning to Iowa. During my travels, I discovered my passion for fitness, which led me to become an ACE-certified personal trainer.

I spent three years as an office manager at Mercy Health & Fitness, followed by three years working as a paraprofessional at Grandwood Education Center to spend more time with my son and build my personal business. Now, I’m dedicated to helping people begin their fitness journey, embrace self-love, and take it one step at a time. I’m thankful to be at Kaizen, a place that shares the same core values and beliefs!

Core Values:

  • Faith
  • Compassion
  • Accountability

Favorite Quote:

“If I can’t fly, then I’ll run. If I can’t run, then I’ll walk. If I can’t walk, then I’ll crawl, but with the help of God at least I’ll always be moving forward” -Martin Luther King Jr

What’s Nellie Watching, Reading, or Listening To?

Gilmore Girls, Real AF podcast with Andy Frisella, and a couple of my favorite books would be “The Story” by Max Lucado and “Make Your Bed” by William H. McRaven

I love seeing the patients and watching the physical therapists in action. They are so knowledgeable and genuinely want what is best for the individuals they are working with. I look forward to learning more each day.

When I’m not at work, I spend my time with my 3-year-old son and our chickens, cats, pigs, turkey, and dog. I also go to the gym and train online clients through 1st Phorm and Trainerize.
