Who We Are

Bryan M. Ladd

PT, DPT, MS, OCS

Bryan is the founder and co-owner  of Kaizen Health and Wellness. After completing his doctorate in Physical Therapy from Des Moines University, Bryan received a direct commission into the U.S. Navy and served for five years at Naval Hospitals in Bremerton, WA and Okinawa, Japan.

The military provided him with extensive clinical and managerial experiences. During his time in the Navy, Bryan completed a musculoskeletal residency and became a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS).

In 2019, following his military service, Bryan moved back to the Des Moines metro and started Kaizen Health and Wellness. Kaizen is the Japanese word for “continuous improvement” or “change for the better.”

Joshua Hildebrand

PT, DPT, CSOMT

Josh is an Iowa native and has a passion for fitness and athletics.

He played football, basketball, and ran track and his personal experience recovering from sports injuries and his competitive drive to strengthen his athleticism led to an interest in Physical Therapy.

Josh holds Bachelor of Arts in biology from the University of Northern Iowa as well as a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Des Moines University, and is a Certified Sports and Orthopedic Manual Therapist.

He is also a fellow in training with the Institute for Athlete Regeneration, training in orthopedic and manual therapy. This puts him in the top 2% of physical therapists.  AKA He’s a manual therapy ninja!

But wait there’s more! Josh loves a good puzzle and has a knack for complicated and “weird” cases.

If you’ve been to other providers in the past and they couldn’t solve your issue, Josh is your man!

When he is not helping clients achieve their max potential, Josh enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, CrossFit, cycling, smoking meats, and watching sporting events.

Logan Yager

PT, DPT, CSCS

Logan is a Nebraska native who moved to Iowa in 2018 to earn his doctorate in Physical Therapy from Des Moines University. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from the University of Nebraska-Kearney.

Logan’s area of expertise is with strength athletes of all kinds. He also has experience working with runners, weekend warriors, and field athletes. Logan is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). This is often considered the gold standard certification for strength and conditioning professionals. As a result, his treatment philosophy revolves heavily around exercise.

Logan is also a competitive powerlifter who has competed in multiple federations. He has experienced a multitude of injuries throughout his time competing which gives him the opportunity to relate with his patients on a deeper level. He believes that rehab should be about finding ways to train with injury rather than stopping altogether. He will work with you to develop a plan to reach your maximum potential while also doing the things you love, regardless of whether they involve the gym or not.

When he’s not in the clinic or the gym, you can find him spending time with his wife and son, throwing it down on the smoker (seasoning recommendations always welcome), playing video games, or telling (bad) dad jokes.

Deana P. Ladd

RN, BSN

Deana is the co-owner  of Kaizen Health and Wellness and actively runs all the behind-the-scenes. She has a background in nursing and healthcare management. She has a heart for helping people and loves meeting new clients and working closely with Bryan each and every day.

When she is not in the office, Deana is typically chasing her and Bryan’s three boys, who typically can be found playing outside, shooting hoops, going on walks, or rollerblading. In her free time, Deana enjoys working out, reading, and watching movies.
