Pre-Post Surgical Rehabilitation in Urbandale

Leading Rehabilitation Services for Pre and Post-Surgical Care in Urbandale

Our expert team of physical therapists plays a crucial role in both pre and post-surgical care. Physical therapy is indispensable for regaining strength, function, and mobility, especially after orthopedic surgeries. We handle many procedures, from hip and knee replacements to delicate surgeries involving the wrists, hands, neck, spine, and ankles. Recovery durations can range from a few days to several weeks, with certain conditions requiring temporary immobilization for optimal healing.

Before surgery, our pre-surgical program is equally essential. Your physical therapist will design a bespoke plan tailored to prepare you for your surgery, significantly enhancing the chances of a favorable outcome.

Our therapists are committed to providing personalized, evidence-based sessions to expedite your return to daily routines, employment, recreational activities, and even competitive sports.

Our Strategy for Pre/Post-Surgery Treatment in Urbandale

Our physical therapists conduct thorough evaluations to develop the best strategies for pain relief, swelling reduction, and restoration of normal movement and function. In collaboration with you, we establish realistic goals for a return to everyday activities and future injury prevention. A personalized exercise program is designed considering your specific abilities and stage of recovery.

The treatment typically progresses through phases. It starts with a post-surgical immobilization period, followed by targeted interventions to reduce pain and swelling. Gradually, exercises are introduced to rebuild strength, stability, and motion range. Our ultimate goal is to bring you back to your pre-injury activity level. Possible postoperative treatments include:

  • Flexibility exercises to enhance motion range

Destani Alvarado

I started working with Dr.Bryan and Kaizen since about January. When I came to Dr.Bryan, I had an array of pain: Bilat shoulders, pelvis, and ankles. During our time together, He has never failed to updated my plan to adjust it to what worked best, what did not work for me pain wise, and to things I enjoy doing on a daily basis. I have gone from having pain in my left hip when squatting, I had hernia surgery, to none! Additionally, having a weak pelvis floor from both prior to and post surgery, I had a massive fear when it came to hip thrust and the amount of weight I used. I used to only do MAX 45lb on each side with pain, I recently did 95lb on each side without pain! I am so grateful to Bryan and the work he does! I was desperate to find something and He has been that something!

So I didn’t get to write a review yet! I posted a Facebook post about how bad my neck and back hurts! Bryan started talking to me and asked me lots of questions. Because I’m so far away, he messaged me some links on specific exercises and how to do them. 3 days of doing that and I am feeling so much better! Thank you Bryan! You are a true Blessing!
